Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, the daughter of a musician born in Mexico, was born to a music-loving family. Her childhood was spent listening to the old and classical boleros as well traditional romantic, ranchero and ballads of romance. Ana loves the opera and tango genres as well as every form of dramatic performances. Her mother taught her how to sing. She began singing under Flavio Belcerra at 16 when his name was known as a famous Mexican opera tenor. She furthered her training in music in the School of Music of Guadalajara University, then at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. She sang throughout Guadalajara, Mexico City and various cities while a college student as well as a professional. In the years following her relocation in California in United States in 2000, she joined the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before moving to her present place in southern California. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and often performs as a soloist of classical Latin American music at private occasions. Being a teacher and a musician Ana is a dedicated participant in numerous community projects because of her love as well as a love of music. Ana is also a past singer in the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana appreciates the opportunity to share her love and passion of old-fashioned Latin American songs with others, and in doing so hopes to instill a sense of to, particularly in the younger age group to keep this tradition of music lively and alive.Viva Mexico!
